What to Expect After You Fill Out The Charity Car Donation Form

In most cases, an ARF representative will contact you within 2-24 hours of submitting a Charity Car Donation Form. This call is to Scedule a date and time that works best for you, for your FREE auto donation pickup. The towing company in charge of picking up your vehicle will provide you with an offical ARF receipt. Please Note, in some cases the towing company will provide you with a towing company receipt and ARF will mail you a receipt.

Vechicles in moderate to excellent condition may be given to a family in need. When an automobile is donated to a family, furthering the ARF cause, you will receive a 1098C form, based on the "FAIR MARKET VALUE" of your automobile.

If your vehicle is not needed to further the ARF cause, and it is in moderate to excellent condition it will be auctioned and sold to the highest bidder. When your vehicle is SOLD, ARF will mail a 1098C Form with the vehicle donation amount for your tax records. Persons receiving a 1098C Form should expect it within 30 days of the donation date. The ARF representative that contacts you is available to discuss the likelihood of your receiving a 1098C Form.

Vehicles in very poor condition with a resale value of less than $500 are generally auctioned and sold to the highest bidder or sold to a scrap yard. ARF designates all vehicle donation proceeds to support it’s efforts to provide basic essentials and improve the well being of children in need throughout the United States.
